Reliability of Secondary data
Before using the secondary data, the following things should be checked to test its reliability:
- Who collected the data?, What were the objectives of collecting data?
- Whether the investigator was experienced, capable, unbiased or not?
- Whether the appropriate techniques of collecting data were applied or not?
- What degree of accuracy was maintained in the data?
- Was the accuracy of the data checked?
- In which time period and in what circumstances were the data collected?
